Synopsis
Christopher White, formerly of the British Museum’s Department of Prints and Drawings, discusses Rembrandt’s print of ‘The Three Crosses’: the engraving of the original plate; the artist’s experimental use of different papers and methods of inking and the later re-working of the plate. Shows impressions from the British Museum, the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, the Teylers Museum, Haarlem, and the Albertina Collection, Vienna.
