Reluctant Comrade, The
- Synopsis
- Story of Robert Robinson, a black car worker at the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, who in 1930 accepted a year’s contract to work at the Stalingrad Tractor Plant in Russia. While there he was elected to the Moscow Soviet without his consent, and automatically stripped of his American citizenship. It was to be 44 years before he could leave, and even then he had to escape.
