Battle Against Heroin, The

Synopsis
Attempts to answer questions about the scale on which heroin is being used and supplied, how the authorities are coping with addicts, and about the devastating effects it is having on users and their families. Sequences show police surveillance of drug dealers, searches conducted at Customs & Excise, a detailed account of how dealers divide small portions of heroin for sale on the streets and the ritual of ‘chasing the dragon’ (inhaling rather than injecting) which is being suggested as one of the main reasons for the massive increase in the illegal use of heroin.
