Synopsis

In a public lecture Professor Etienne Balibar looks at the role played by racism and migration in changing the political and cultural geography of Europe. Taking issue with some of the more simplistic notions of ‘Fortress Europe’ and Eurocentrism he examines the way in which the restructuring of nations and nationalisms is imposing new terms of engagement with what Europe means to its others.
