Prostaglandins in the Cow and Mare

Synopsis
Reviews the physiological properties of prostaglandins, especially those involved in reproduction. Emphasis is placed on the action of prostaglandins on the life-span of the corpus luteum and their role in myometrial contraction, particularly relating to parturition. The rationale for using prostaglandins and their analogues to control reproductive function in the cow and mare is discussed in more detail and questions posed on clinical problems (and answers given).
