Proctodeal Exchange and Antenna Relations in ‘Dolichoderus Quadripunctatus’

Synopsis

Following a short ecological introduction, shows vitelloproctodeal food exchanges whereby workers nourish the eggs, then adults of the colony during the larval growth phase. ‘Antenna talk’, i.e. antenna intercommunication between workers and other social members during food exchange, is then analysed.
