Synopsis
Documents the effects of World Bank-funded projects on the environment and tribal peoples worldwide. These projects include the Poloroeste project in South America (building a road through a Brazilian rain forest), transmigration in Indonesia (resettling Javanese on to tribal peoples’ land), and a hydro-electric scheme on the Narmanda River in India (flooding tribal peoples’ land). Includes interviews with World Bank members and their critics.
