Synopsis
Discusses pregnancy diagnosisand illustrated both static and portable ultrosound machines. Explains how the ultrasonic beam is imaged and shows the differences between bone, tissue, fluids and gas. An artifact is explained. Several bitches at various stages of pregnancy are imaged and landmarks are used to help locate conceptuses. The use of diagramatic sections amplifies and links the various stages of pregnancy described. Explains the use of electronic callipers and why pregnancy length should be calculated from the date of ovulation rather than from the day of mating.
