A short history of the growth of psychoanalysis from Freud through to new therapies such as feminist therapies, followed by discussion between therapists of different orientations and with clients who see themselves as having benefited from receiving counselling or therapy. Questions are raised concerning the availabiliyt of psychotherapy, for instance, through the National Health Service.
