- Uses archive footage to highlight the importance of the organised civilian groups who fought military actions or performed acts of espionage, sabotage, disruption and protest against occupying forces. Looks at the French Resistance and examines its effectiveness. Also examines the successful partisans in Yugoslavia, commanded by Tito and the resistance groups of Russia. Includes analysis by historians and military experts, as well as interviews with men who lost comrades to partisan activity.
