On Camera. Part 4: Editing

Subtitle
Editing
Synopsis
The selection of shots, the order in which they are used, and the length of time that they are kept on the screen form the fundamentals of editing. The tape consist of two versions of an item about a factory which has introduced morning exercises for its workers and shows how the same material can be edited in different ways to change the shape of a story. Demonstration of how interviews can be edited to greatest advantage and how shots can be juxtaposed to make the best use of material. Includes 38 minutes of unedited material from the interviews which can be used, in conjunction with the shot list in the notes, by students to edit their own version of the story.
