Older Brains, New Connections: A Conversation with Marian Diamond at 73

Synopsis
Research by neuroanatomist Marian Diamond has shown that the brain, and thus intellectual functioning, is enhanced by environmental factors. Her work affirms the importance of mental stimulation for older people. Here, Dr Diamond presents results from her laboratory research and discusses ways she is applying these findings to create a very full life for herself well beyond the traditional age of ‘retirement’.
