Object Oriented Multimedia Database with Display Tools

Synopsis

1: Software comprising a set of tools for managing digital representations (images, text, video, sound, etc.) of objects, with a full object-orientated database which is fully customisable and simple-to-use search tools. All objects can be linked to other objects, including sub-sets, and linking can include hyper-linking between texts, images, videos, etc. (CabiNET may be used with any set of digital resources.)
2: A CD-ROM collection of around 4000 images, video clips, diagrams, texts and other Quicktime objects from the collections of the Cambridge University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the Cambridge University Whipple Museum of the History of Science, the Oxford University Old Ashmolean History of Science Collection and the Museum of the Iron Age.
