Synopsis
Safety training programme based on a dramatisation set in an electronics firm where staff are working to capacity to fulfil a large order. Shows the chain of events leading up to a serious accident. The factory inspector’s enquiry reveals that the errors were cumulative and collective, thus involving everyone. Emphasises that responsibility for accidents resides with staff members, managers and directors, that even in safety-conscious organisations accidents can happen, and that a ‘safety first’ attitude is essential. Includes Support Material on a separate CD: ‘The Leader’s Guide’ is divided into two parts. Part 1 Running the Training Session - contains two discussion exercises. Exercise 1 provides a number of useful questions relating to the accident. Exercise 2 is a safety quiz which can be used with the film or as part of any other safety training session. Part 2 Extending the Training - provides an introduction to the role and powers of the Factory Inspection, and a model safety policy against which you can compare your company’s safety policy.
