Synopsis
The programme was to be broadcast on Channel Four but was the first programme to fall victim to the broadcasting ban. The film includes footage of Emma Groves immediately after she was shot with a rubber bullet fired by a British soldier in 1971, and of Christy Moore’s song ‘Unfinished Revolution’. Shows a montage of Irish women in resistence roles, and an interview with Gibraltar victim Mairead Farrell. Footage on early civil rights movements is included. Explores the development and use of images and music to personify Ireland as a woman in Irish culture and nationalism.
