4: Robert Orville Anderson, the USA’s top private landowner and head of the seventh-largest oil company in the country, talks about his conflict with environmentalists, his ruthless rstructuring of ARCO in 1985, how he had the world’s biggest oil strike in Alaska, and his rescue of London’s troubled ‘Observer’ newspaper.
5: Stanley Ho, whose the main source wealth was a gambling franchise in Macau, now owns shipping interests, hotels, restaurants, real estate and trading interests world-wide. He explains his decision to invest in Hong Kong despite its reversion to China in 1997.
6: Russi Mody, India’s best known businessman, owns the Tisco steel plant, which provides not only work, but also schools, hospitals, social and recreational centres for employees and their families. Mody is proud of his man-management and Tisco’s strike free record since 1928, but is concerned that new technology will mean less utilisation of human talent. - Language
