Au Pays de la Marseillaise
- Synopsis
- Shot in Strasbourg during the opening days of the World War 2. Shows the civilian population packing and leaving the city; soldiers and policemen patrolling empty streets; precautions taken to safeguard the Cathedral, and sentries, in sandbagged strong points, maintaining the watch on the Rhine. Whereas THE FIRST DAYS presents an eagerness to find a not-very-obvious war, this film, with its over-confident commentary, seems equally eager to play down, virtually ignore, one on its doorstep.
