Metabolic Pathways

Synopsis
Discusses the necessary of rephrasing biological processes in biochemical terms, explaining how enzymes operate in sequence within pathways to bring about desired changes. The major features and relationships of anabolism and catabolism are covered, with emphasis placed on the central position of the citric acid cycle. The final section deals with how cell compartmentation, feedback inhibition and feedforward activation, enzyme induction and repression regulate metabolism. Uses a combination of computer graphics and film footage.
