Synopsis
Looks at four companies - Saga, Unilever, GEI International, Guardian Royal Exchange - which are unusually market-driven and whose strength lies in the way they respond so efficiently to the needs of the global marketplace. In these circumstances, many companies adopt a policy of being a ‘multi-local multi-national’. Case studies from India and Thailand illustrate how the strategic advantages of such a policy give flexibility that large corporations might not otherwise have.
