Assessment in Social Care: An Introduction

Synopsis
Introduces the principles of assessment. Users work though a series of short scenes from care work which help them explore issues in making assessments of people in the workplace. Specific questions are asked. The user is then introduced to the NVQ/SVQ system with its national standards and the requirements of gathering sufficient evidence of a candidate’s work performance. Users are then able to practise gathering evidence and making assessments using two case studies, one set in a residential home for people with learning difficulties, and another with a home care worker.
