Low Cycle Fatigue
- Synopsis
- Highlights the important aspect of monitoring the fatigue of an aircraft engine during its normal working life. There are two distinct halves: the first illustrates, at elementary level, engine operation in commercial and military aircraft, while the second half presents, at a much more advanced level, how fatigue life is quantified and how it can be measured and monitored by a low cycle fatigue counter. The main emphasis is on the advertisement of a specific counter designed and developed by Smiths Industries, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.
