- Explores the images and stories associated with the discovery, design and use of the Lewis chess pieces, exquisitely carved artifacts uncovered on the Isle of Lewis in 1930-31. Individual pieces can be rotated in three dimensions. Historical background, walrus hunting, Gaelic board games and the rules of 12th-century chess can be investigated. Includes spoken accounts of the finding of the pieces. English or Gaelic soundtracks.
