Inspirational Design

Synopsis
Three case studies examine various elements of good product design: 1) the McLaren F1 super-car - looks at the use of carbon fibre and other compostite materials and the ergonmics of the car’s interior; 2) the re-design of a best-selling Morphy Richards kettle to satisfy the needs of the changing marketplace; 3) the Anywayup cup and the use of CAD to facilitate concurrent engineering. Also examines the ways an initial design can be altered by tool-makers and the factory.
