In Search of Cool Ground: The Mursi Trilogy. 1: The Mursi

Subtitle
Mursi, The
Synopsis
The Mursi are an unadministered tribe living in a remote corner of Ethiopia and practising a remarkable form of democracy. A tribe without chiefs or leaders, they reach their political decisions in formal debate at which each warrior who wishes to speak is heard patiently until all the important views and issues have been raised, when a common, unanimous will should emerge. The film records this process at work at a time of great crisis for the tribe who were at war with their neighbours, the Bodi. *RAI
