Imagined Worlds. Part 7: Professor Patrick Wall

Subtitle
Professor Patrick Wall
Synopsis
Patrick Wall, Professor of Anatomy at University College London, together with colleagues, has developed the first radically new theory (the gate control theory) for 300 years on how pain is felt. His research also helps to show what purpose it serves and how mental processes can affect the experience of pain in different individuals. The practical results of his work have led to new treatments of pain.
