- Description
- TeleScope is an annual report on the television industry produced by TV Licensing. It provides a yearly insight into the UK’s viewing habits, particularly the way in which technology is affecting how people watch. Amongst the findings of the report for 2013 are that the nation owns fewer television sets but that people are watching more television on more devices. This report also includes the TeleHappiness index: national and regional statistics highlighting the television that makes people happiest by comparing hours and tv genres against emotional responses. Perhaps unsurprisingly, comedy makes people the happiest(95%), while news comes at the bottom of the index: 35 per cent agree news and current affairs makes us happy (a figure which might strike some as surprisingly high).
