- Ofcom’s consultation on its approach to the enforcement of rules around the scheduling of TV advertising was published on 18.7.2014 and closes 10.10.2014. The document sets out options that potentially could be used to secure effective enforcement of the law on the number of advertising breaks that can be shown depending on the scheduled duration of a programme.
Ofcom also puts forward proposals for revisions to the advertising rules in the Code on the Scheduling of Television Advertising (COSTA). These changes are designed to make the rules clearer and easier to follow, and consistent with our existing enforcement practices.
