Description
This report looks at the impact British cinema has had on the way the nation sees itself and the way others see Britain. The report selects 200 ‘iconic’ films and traces how British cinema has both upheld and challenged or undermined certain traditional British values. The study also looks at the way in which the economics of the industry have shaped its evolution, from film quotas and subsidies to the impact of television and the home video and DVD revolution, and finally the internet.
