- This report summarises a project undertaken on behalf of Becta by the University of Reading. The focus of the survey is firstly on what constitutes good teaching for outstanding/expert teachers, and secondly on their use of ICT. The survey included teachers and teaching assistants from infant, primary and secondary schools. The key aims of the project were to identify what qualities practitioners think are needed for excellence in teaching; how practitioners develop their expertise; how subject expertise and ICT/technology expertise interact; to collect information that will help to develop a typology of emergent best practices.
