Contemporary Documentary Archive

Description
Since 1997, the Contemporary Documentary Archive (CDA) based at the School of Music, Media and Performance, University of Salford has been building a vast archive of documentary programmes broadcast in Britain. The focus of the Archive has been suveillance, crime, the police and reality TV. The Archive holds thousands of hours of major documentaries and continues to add to it’s collection. Examples of our holdings include Crimewatch UK, Police Camera Action, Cutting Edge, Big Brother, Neighbours From Hell and many others.

The CDA also has a significant amount of press cuttings which supplement these recordings which are also available for loan by staff and post graduate students.

Prior permission is needed to access the Archive. Opening hours are Tuesday (10am to 1pm); Thursday & Friday (10am to 4pm.)
