Collection arising from: films of royal visits, etc. acquired from 1921; film deposits, 1915 onwards; films/sound tapes prepared for the Education Department, 1970s; and the production of tapes (for sale) from collection of private films, 1930s onwards. The Archives Service will be moving to new premises early in 2006: St Barnabas, Cornet St, St Peter Port.

Sound Archives: Approx 150 cassette tapes consisting of radio interviews, talks and lectures (historical and contemporary). Subjects include German occupation and wartime memoirs, the Liberation in May 1945, environmental issues, interviews with public figures, folk songs and tales.
