- Collection of a few films which have been deposited in the City Archives Office (which deals primarily with written material) since 1954, by different depositors. There is no connection between them and there is no definite policy for collecting film material, but it is possible that additional items may be received occasionally.

Film: About 12 films deposited by own organisation and various depositors. The holdings include Pathé News items including the opening of the Municipal Building of the Civic Centre by the Duke of York 1932, the inauguration of the cheap airmail service by flying boat from Southampton to South Africa 1937 and miscellaneous events in Southampton 1936-39. Southampton Gateway, 1964. Southampton Celebrates, 1953 (covering events in Coronation Week). Calling Blighty, 1944 (Forces film with message from servicemen in India to families in Southampton area Inaugural Ball in the Guildhall, 1937. Beating the Bounds, 1958.
