- The RNCM is a conservatoire which prepares gifted students of all backgrounds and nationalities for a professional career in music. The main emphasis is on preparation for a career in performance (including composition) but a balanced education in music is provided. The Library supports the teaching programme of the College and its collection of commercial videos and off-air recordings, which focuses on classical music, comprises the following: Operas - 71 off-air recordings, 42 commercial recordings; concerts/documentaries - 164 off-air recordings, 30 commercial recordings.
