- A collection of rehearsals on stage of the repertoire of the Royal Ballet. Since 1956 all productions have been recorded. Recordings between 1956-1970 were made on 16mm film - now lodged with the British Film Institute, but video copies remain in the collection. Small amounts of in-house non-broadcast recordings of interviews and master classes, educational resources material, etc.

- Conservation policy
- To ensure that the past repertoire of the Royal Ballet Company is available for study by the next generation of dancers and to assist in the reconstruction of ballets in the future. Generally no master tapes are ever erased.
