LEICESTERSHIRE FILM ARCHIVE
Civic parade - Pageant of Leicester, 1932. (photo courtesy of Leicestershire Film Archive)- Description
- The newly established Leicestershire Film Archive provides a clear identity for the Leicester and Leicestershire collection of the TUA Film Archive (see separate entry). It comprises mainly amateur shot material, much of which has been blown up from 9.5mm originals, showing aspects of life in the county from around 1930 to the present day. Film records include the 1932 Pageant of Leicester, the 1935 Silver Jubilee celebrations in Leicester, Coronation parades, Royal visits, local industry, transport, farming and country life in an area much neglected by film-makers. There are also documentary and other productions featuring Leicester and Leicestershire.
