- COI Footage File (Central Office of Information) is a unique visual record of Britain’s culture, heritage, way of life and aspirations covering the last 60 years. The collection begins with John Grierson’s documentary masterpiece Drifters. It moves on to include a wealth of material shot by the Crown Film Unit during the war and today encompasses an outstanding selection of Government-commissioned material that is constantly being updated. Footage File is a kaleidoscope of imagery - social, historical, geographical, scientific and political including many subjects ranging from landscapes to laser surgery, churches to Churchill, forestry to forensic science.
