Teachers TV website closes

top_img_06The Teachers TV website will be closing on 29 April following the Department for Education’s termination of the Teachers TV contract.

Its catalogue of 3,500 programmes have been available exclusively online for free viewing or download since their television broadcasts ceased in September 2010. Videos downloaded under the Creative Archive Licence may be retained, providing their storage and use complies with the CA Licence, but videos made available under the Viewing Licence may no longer be stored for use after 29 April.

Further information about licensing and downloaded content is currently given on the Teachers TV Help Page. The DfE is offering all the programmes to educational distributors for free at the point of use streaming, and details of which programmes have been taken up will shortly be available on the DfE website.
