Charon QC Podcasts
Charon QC is the alias of Mike Temple Piggot, who is responsible for this collection of informative podcasts. The site hosts a number of different series and although the cluttered layout can make navigation tricky there is a lot of worthwhile content. The Tour Report series consists of one-to-one interviews with leading legal figures, such as this discussion with Charles Christian, Editor in Chief of Legal IT Insider on the role of information technology in modern legal practice. Another series – Without Prejudice – features Charon QC in discussion with journalist David Allen Green and barrister and former government lawyer Carl Gardner. Other podcasts focus on human rights and legal ethics as well as looking at the legal profession itself. In addition to the podcast the site also features Piggot’s InsiteLaw magazine which contains links to news stories, links to law related posts from UK and other bloggers and a lively discussion board run by the members.

Kracauer Lectures in Film and Media Theory
Named after the philosopher, sociologist, and writer Siegfried Kracauer (1889-1966), this series of podcasts and video lectures, which is hosted by the Goethe University, Frankfurt, aims to present innovative contemporary scholarship from the fields of film and media studies, art history, cultural studies, and aesthetic philosophy. The lectures also aim to engage with science, theories of technology cultural and media economics, and political theory. The podcasts feature eminent film scholars from Europe and the USA, including Ginette Vincendeau, Thomas Elsaesser and Andras Balint Kovacs and are free to view or can be accessed as an rss feed.

Life Sciences Podcast
A fortnightly podcast by staff from the Manchester University Faculty of Life Sciences. The podcast follows a magazine format and aims to keep listeners informed about the latest news and research in biology, featuring contributions from faculty members and students from Manchester University, as well as experts from other institutions. Aimed at students as well as the general listener this series also offers careers advice, reports from conferences and news from related scientific disciplines, such as neuroscience, ecology and medical sciences. Also available via iTunes.

Medical London: City of Diseases, City of Cures
This website accompanies a book of essays which explores the history of medicine in London, looking at its roles in contagion and sanitation, empire and immigration, from its earliest beginnings to the present day. The website features six short films based on a series of walks organised by the Wellcome Trust during 2009, which trace the histories of different aspects of health and disease in the capital, from the Cholera outbreak of 1854 to a look at Daniel Defoe’s Journal of the Plague Year.

National STEM Centre eLibrary
This online gateway provides easy access to thousands of resources for teachers and students of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Each subject area can be searched individually or collectively, and a wide range of filters can be applied, including by subject, publisher, format, year and age range. The content includes videos, animations, images and audio as well text-based learning resources. Users must register in order to access all the content.
