Ofcom research event: new findings on children and parents’ media use and attitudes

Ofcom is holding a research event on children and parents’ media use and attitudes, which will take place on Wednesday 20 November 2013 from 3 to 5.30pm, at Ofcom’s offices in Riverside House, London SE1 9HA. Networking drinks will be available after the event.

Introduced by Colette Bowe, Ofcom Chairman, the event will focus on three key themes:

  • Children’s media take up and use
  • Children’s media understanding and behaviours
  • Children’s online risks, opportunities and parental mediation

Ofcom will present new research findings on each of the themes. These short presentations will be complemented by presentations from BBC, Discovery Research and the Net Children Go Mobile project. Contributions from the audience willbe welcomed, and number of prominent stakeholders, including Facebook and Childnet, will also be present for the themed discussions afterwards.

A limited number of printed copies of the Children and Parents: Media Use and Attitudes report (download PDF here) will be available on the day.
