From the BBC R&D blog:

Google and the BBC are co-organising a one day workshop on Exploring and enhancing the user experience for Television as part of the CHI 2013 program on the 27 April 2013 in Paris, France. Academics and practitioners experienced in this topic are invited to submit a position paper plus a short bio by the 18 January 2013. Information on how to submit your contribution is available here.

The position paper should attempt to address one or more of the following themes:

  • Remotes
  • Content Discovery and Engagement on Companion Screens
  • Discovery of Devices
  • Social Network and User Generated Content
  • Personalisation and Recommendations

The workshop seeks to increase the volume and quality of HCI research and innovative practice around user interfaces for television. Internet connectivity is driving a rapid increase in the range and scope of interactive experiences on the TV platform and it represents an exciting new opportunity for developing new HCI practice and methodology, as well as innovative forms of user experience.

Further details on the themes of the workshop, method of submission, important deadlines and organisers can be found at the workshop website.
