Chemicum
A collection of over 100 videos showing chemistry experiments made by researchers and lecturers at the University of Tartu in Estonia. Most of the videos feature captions in English, as well as an accompanying explanatory text and can be viewed either with or without an on-screen explanation.

The Creators Project
This website aims to promote artists who are using new technology to push the boundaries of creative expression: the results of this can be seen in the site’s videos section which features artists’ studio work as well as documentaries and coverage of events, installations and exhibitions. The blog features writing on the latest developments in moving image technology, but also covers cutting-edge technology in general as in this video about biobots: tiny robots made on a 3D printer and then injected with the rat’s heart cells to give them the power of motion.

The content can be searched according to category – Music, Film, Art, Design, Gaming and Fashion – as well as by creator. The site has a global reach and showcases work by artists from Brazil, China, France, Germany, South Korea, the USA and the UK.

London College of Fashion
The London College of Fashion has a gathered together a number of videos on its website which highlight the work of graduating students from its BA and MA courses and include footage of catwalk shows as well as a performance archive showcasing the work of students studying Costume Design, Make-Up and Prosthetics, Costume for Performance and Technical Effects.

The site also features interviews with students and staff and a number of ‘how to’ videos illustrating the design and manufacturing of a pair of shoes, a handbag and lipstick.

Meet the Author
The appeal of this site lies in its simplicity: authors speak directly to camera about their latest book. The pieces are brief, ranging from thirty seconds to just over a minute, but are often revealing, amusing and informative. The site features over 1,600 clips which can be searched for by author, book title, keyword and category. The Author’s Lounge section features a smaller number of longer pieces such as this interview with J.G. Ballard who discusses his autobiography Miracles of Life with Hari Kunzru.

Woodberry Poetry Room
The centrepience of this website is its audio archive, which includes recordings of most of the major poets of the 20th century, including John Ashbery, W. H. Auden, Ted Berrigan, Elizabeth Bishop, Yves Bonnefoy, Joseph Brodsky, Gwendolyn Brooks, Robert Creeley, ee Cummings, Robert Duncan, Robert Frost, Allen Ginsberg, Louise Gluck, Ted Hughes, Robinson Jeffers, Philip Larkin, Denise Levertov, Audre Lorde, Robert Lowell, Czeslaw Milosz, Marianne Moore, Paul Muldoon, Vladimir Nabokov, Sharon Olds, Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich, Siegfried Sassoon, Anne Sexton and Wallace Stevens. A selection of the material is available in The Listening Booth, although due to copyright reasons some of the material is only available to members of Harvard University. The Vocarium section of the website offers a collection of recordings of the Poetry Room’s events, discussions, workshops and interviews.
