Alexandra Palace 75: A Celebration

As the 75th anniversary of the “world’s first regular high definition television service” approaches, the Museum will mark this important milestone with an afternoon of presentations and screenings. The day will include a screening of the BBC film Television Comes to London (1936), rare archive footage, and a discussion about the ground-breaking technology used to introduce high definition television circa 1936 with television historians, Don McLean and John Trenouth. The event will be hosted by Curator of Broadcast Culture, Iain Logie Baird, and will include guided behind-the-scenes tours of the Museum’s internationally significant television technology collection.
