Digital Copyright Exchange Feasibility Study

It has just been anounced that Richard Hooper will lead a feasibility study on developing a Digital Copyright Exchange. The creation of a DCE was recommended in the Hargreaves report Digital Opportunity: A Review of Intellectual Property and Growth as a way of allowing rights holders to specify the terms on which they would make their work available for re-use, and helping others in the creative sector to identify rights holders quickly to secure potential licensing or investment deals.

The feasibility study will look at how Professor Hargreaves’ recommendation can be moved towards operational reality and will report to Government before the 2012 summer Parliamentary recess.
