Hetty Malcolm-Smith has been appointed as project manager (part-time, 3 days per week) for the HEFCE-funded Shared Services project.

This project focuses on the use of post-broadcast television and radio programmes in Higher and Further Education and its information infrastructure. There are three envisaged delivery strands:

1. Increasing the quality and consistency of programme listings and other metadata available to HE/FE across different platforms
2. Developing current BUFVC services (in particular BoB National) to provide better value,increased capacity and functionality to the HE/FE sector
3. Devising and running an ambitious programme of data sharing between HE/FE libraries in order to compile a union catalogue of off-air recording holdings across UK HE/FE institutions.
